The Proctorial Committee of Sambalpur University shall be responsible for maintaining discipline, ensuring a safe and conducive academic environment, and promoting orderly conduct among students within the University campus and its affiliated institutions. The Committee shall uphold academic integrity, ensure compliance with the provisions of the University Act, Statutes, Ordinances, Regulations, and Rules, and deal with cases of student misconduct, indiscipline, ragging, violence, or any other act prejudicial to the interests of the University.

The Proctorial Committee shall play a vital role in preserving the dignity, values, and standards of the University by fostering a culture of discipline, mutual respect, and responsible behaviour. It shall investigate complaints relating to student misconduct, conduct fair and impartial enquiries, recommend appropriate disciplinary measures to the competent authority, and undertake such other functions as may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor from time to time to maintain peace, order, and discipline on the University campus.
