Aims and Objectives

The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) shall promote equality, inclusiveness, and social justice within the University by ensuring equal access to education, employment, and other opportunities for all students and employees without discrimination on the grounds of caste, religion, gender, disability, ethnicity, language, or socio-economic status. The Cell shall facilitate the implementation of Government and UGC policies relating to reservation, scholarships, welfare schemes, and support services for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), minorities, and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). It shall also organize awareness programmes, career guidance, skill development, counselling, and address grievances relating to discrimination and denial of equal opportunities.

Infrastructure Facilities

The University shall provide necessary infrastructure for the effective functioning of the Equal Opportunity Cell. Training programmes, seminars, workshops, and employability enhancement activities shall be conducted in the Mini Auditorium Hall of Sambalpur University. Campus recruitment drives and placement-related activities shall ordinarily be organized in the Department of Business Administration (MBA), the Bio-Technology & Bio-Informatics (BTBI) Department, and such other Departments or Centres of the University as may be considered appropriate.
