The Department of Computer Science and Application was formed in the year 1988 during the 7th Five year plan period having an intake capacity of 30 students. The faculty members give personal guidance to students both in teaching as well as laboratory experiments. The thrust areas of research of the department are Software Engineering, Applications of IT in BPR (MIS), Programming Languages, Machine Vision, and Image Processing. The course is of one year duration and is formed according to the need of the present IT scenario. The course provides a basic knowledge on different aspects of computer application in theory as well as experimental techniques.
The two computer labs are well equipped with Two Xeon servers running Linux & Windows. Mixed PCs of Core2 Duo and legacy machines are available to the students. Other equipments available in the department are Network Laser Printer, standalone laser printers, scanners, laptops, LCD/optical projectors. One CCNA lab for the CCNA program (presently suspended), One SUN Java lab .
